This is my personal opinion.

Darlene Graham has no one to blame but herself. She brought her defeat upon herself from the first day of her campaign. She would not say or when asked outright should would refuse to say what she stood for. She always gave the same deflective answer that she stands for the same thing Lindsey Graham stood for, and nothing more. The people here in South Carolina didn’t want that. They wanted her to come out for herself and say what she stood for and believed. She is from here, so she would know how the people here are and what the people wanted for an answer and not the deflective answer she always resorted to. Then shortly before the elections took place, it came out that she supported Flock Cameras and the Data centers. Both of which t have always been very big issues here and are not wanted by most of the people. The people of South Carolina realized she would be very bad for our state and as a result she lost the election from the start. Now I know there are those that would say that even though she was not what The People wanted they should have elected her anyway to help keep the Republican Party in control in the Senate. That's a good idea in part, but not at the loss and ruin of our state. If they wanted to stay in control, they should have had someone running who knew what was really going on and what they were doing, and not someone who would just be a mouthpiece and a vote for their Party. The Republican Party is partially to blame for this as well. If they really wanted someone who would win they should have gotten as much better candidate. A friend of mine who is so die-hard Republican said after reading this, "Maybe we picked the wrong candidate to run." I told him "You really think so? Isn't it quite obvious that is what was done, and not with just her? Look at all of the other elections they lost this time around."

I, myself, am a very conservative and total independent. I do not support or endorse either one of the so-called "major parties." I am glad she did not win the election. I do not like that the Democrat won. But what options did we really have? Either way would be voted for someone who was bad for the state. That is why on the ballot I did the "write in" spot and voted for someone else. I know some would say you have to vote for the lesser of the two evils. My response to that nonsense is "No you do not. Either way you would still be voting for evil and as a Christian I cannot vote for evil. I will vote for a third party or leave the space blank and not vote for anyone." Now I have heard her several times refer to the elections as her re-election campaign. It was not! She was never elected in the first place. She was appointed. Big difference there.
