Dr. Von Eschenbach: When you sit there and do nothing, and lie to the New Mexico legislature on the safety of aspartame, you are no service to the FDA. You give interviews like this one which is nothing but words. I notice you don't mention the aspartame issue you ignore that has caused a global plague in more than 100 countries of the world.
We have operations in every state and sometimes many cities, and 37 countries of the world alerting people that aspartame is an addictive excitoneurotoxic carcinogenic drug that interacts with all drugs and vaccines. Roberts, M.D. This may end up being one of the largest plagues in world history.

There are millions of posts and web sites on google alerting the public. Aspartame dangers stay in the news and books and magazines are constantly alerting the public. Several countries are trying to ban this poison, and yet the FDA does nothing but lie about when it was the FDA that originally tried to have the company indicted for fraud and revoked the petition for approval.
I wrote a petition for ban almost 5 years ago when your own law says that it must be in answered in 180 days. You operate above the law, and as your own FDA toxicologist told Congress on August 1, l985, "And if the FDA violates its own laws who is left to protect the public?"
So we have no protector, the reason for Mission Possible International. So all you're doing, Dr. Von Eschenbach is making noise. The FDA is written against constantly not only in articles but books like Racketeering in Medicine and fine news ones like Fight For Your Health by Byron Richards. You know that aspartame interacts with all drugs, and people are dying. So now a law has been passed eliminating liability against Big Pharma and preventing people from suing. This is, of course, illegal since the Bill of Rights says you cannot take away the rights of the people. You can't just allow Big Pharma to keep knocking off the public and say "we're not responsible". And since you know that anyone consuming aspartame and takes drugs will suffer interaction, you are responsible to the world. Aspartame also has a synergistic and additive effect with MSG which shouldn't be on the market either since it's an excitotoxin, a product that stimulates the neurons of the brain to death causing brain damage. You even approved a chlorocarbon poison, Splenda, which liberates free chlorine. We call it DDT-Lite. Since its also adulterated it's against the law, and reactions from the poison are flooding in. If that wasn't enough with all FDA knows about aspartame it even approves Neotame, another aspartame product made by the same company.
It's sickening to read articles like this, and what you plan to do. Until you plan to remove aspartame there is no safety. People are dying from the cancers and neurodegenerative diseases aspartame triggers. It has caused an epidemic of diabetes and obesity. And when independent scientific peer reviewed studies keep exposing aspartame like the prestigious Ramazzini Study which showed aspartame to be a multipotential carcinogen, confirming FDA's original findings, FDA simply rebuts the study instead of protecting the people. The Greek study, bottom line, shows Alzheimers. I see you just ignored that one and the Liverpool study showing the interaction of additives. But there have been many more the FDA has ignored.

Obviously, the FDA has shown through its history that it doesn't care if there are products on the market causing cancer, and constantly violates the Delaney Amendment which forbids it.
Either get your act together or resign. The people need an FDA that will safeguard food and drugs and not allow poisons on the market, not an FDA that goes after natural healthful products but welcomes dangerous drugs like Vioxx and Celebrex.
So far since you've been FDA Commissioner you've done nothing but lie. Now get aspartame off the market. Start keeping the law. Aspartame is adulterated which is against the law, and its illegal to ship an adulterated product for sale so it violates Interstate Commerce Laws. Your own FDA toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross told Congress that aspartame violates the Delaney Amendment http://www.wnho.net/delaney_lives.htm because without a shadow of a doubt it can cause brain tumors and brain cancer. It's also against the law to approve a drug as an additive , as additives must be inert, not have a 1038 page medical text on the horrors it causes. Aspartame is a teratogen and causes birth defects and mental retardation as Dr. Louis Elsas, pediatric professor, genetics, told Congress in May, l985. Yet the FDA doesn't even have the decency to demand a warning for pregnant women with full knowledge that it murders babies as an abortifacient and triggers everything from autism to cleft palate. You allow mercury in vaccines knowing full well mercury is a poison. Aspartame and mercury both cause autism so a child doesn't have a chance, and aspartame interacts with vaccines. In the meantime you do stupid things like say quinine can only be prescribed for malaria. Quinine for years and years could be bought in a drug store without a prescription for leg cramps. In the meantime, you let millions die from aspartame, and we're already taking aspartame brain tumor cases in New York and New Jersey. You haven't had to listen to a young woman with a head full of aspartame brain tumors cry over the phone, "I want to live, I want to live, I want to live" nor are you there with women give birth to babies with brain tumors.
The FDA has brought nothing but shame to the United States, and through the approval of aspartame, a global plague. Now we get a report that medications are coated with sweeteners, which means it can be aspartame. Her aspartame symptoms only stopped when she stopped taking medications. If I were you, I would do some research on that because that's a good way to put your Big Daddy, (Big Pharma) out of business. Why would a sweetener be needed for medications you swallow anyway?

With what they could save they could afford to pay the FDA instead of it getting money from Big Pharma who you gave your loyalty instead of the people. As to tobacco, what's with regulation. You know tobacco causes cancer and you know its addicting. Why is it still on the market? I'll answer it for you. Aspartame and tobacco are on the market for the same reason, addiction, profit and greed.
Recently, I had a conversion with Mitchell Cheeseman at the FDA. I told him the FDA knows aspartame is adulterated and against the law, as even admitted by the National Soft Drink Assn (now American Beverage) and in the congressional record. He had the gall to tell me they can around it with Section 409. Is that what the FDA does, think up ways to get around the law? Then I told him, the FDA knows how deadly it is because in l980 their own Board of Inquiry revoked the petition for approval. Whenever I see an article where you have been interviewed I read a bunch of noise, but there is no action to protect the public. The FDA should be replaced by an organization with no strings to Big Pharma whose concern is safe food and drugs and consumer health. The FDA has failed the United States and the world.
