This is in response to the article entitled, "FDA Surprise: Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, Aggressive Regulator Against Vaping, Resigns", which may be found at: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2019/03/05/fda-commissioner-scott-gottlieb-resigns-food-drug-administration/3069901002/

Dr. Gottlieb was interested in the opioid epidemic: https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/3/5/18252139/scott-gottlieb-resigns-fda-opioid-epidemic I let him know that aspartame interacts with opioids and that I almost died three times. I was in the hospital and they gave me drugs that had aspartame in them and I didn't know it, and then gave me something for pain. On three occasions I stopped breathing. In one case I was covered in urticaria (hives). In a strong discussion with the nurse she turned around and had the doctor write another Rx for a drug that had aspartame even after seeing me stop breathing. When I refused the prescription she went outside and gave it to my husband. This is the epitome of fatal health care. In 2017 47,600 people died of overdoses. How many were using aspartame? Once you're given aspartame you can be chemically hypersensitive for life as I am. If you want to see another case in a movie who became a code blue after being given Crystal Lite Lemonade after telling the hospital aspartame could take her life see "Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World" - https://www.google.com/search?q=Sweet+Misery%3A+A+Poisoned+World%2C+youtubr&oq=sweet+&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j69i59j69i60j69i61j35i39l2.3514j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

I have done the only thing I know to save others from this happening to them by writing a hospital form for patients to sign and give the hospital including the entire chapter on aspartame and drug interaction from the 1000 page medical text, "Aspartame Disease: An Ignored Epidemic" by the late world expert, H. J. Roberts, M.D. http://www.mpwhi.com/aspartame_hospital_form.htm

If you want to know how deadly aspartame is I just wrote an article for the National Health Federation on a recent study on how aspartame depletes neurotransmitters in the brain. https://rense.com/general96/new-shows-study-aspartame-depletes-neurotransmitters-in-the-brain.php Notice this sentence: "Aspartame may be contributing to the downfall of human civilization by altering the brains of human beings turning them into cognitively impaired, chemically-altered organisms incapable of rational behavior." Looking at what is going on sometimes I wonder what kind of person could do things like want abortions up to 9 months, even if the baby is born alive, murder. What is happening to the minds of people?

As far as Dr. Gottlieb's position on cigarettes I'm all for what he has done. Look what is in cigarettes: https://sickofsmoking.nl/en/feiten/what-is-really-in-tobacco-a-cigarette-and-smoke This includes methanol like in aspartame. Dr. M. Alemany did the Trocho study showing the formaldehyde converted from the free methyl alcohol embalms living tissue and damages DNA. Consider the formaldehyde being released in the cells. As it says in Dr. Woodrow Monte's medical text, "While Science Sleeps: A Sweetener Kills", http://www.whilesciencesleeps.com the formaldehyde turns tissues to plastics! In Dr. Roberts medical text its listed under "pre-embalming"! Now you know by study what aspartame does to the brain and how it embalms. Here is the Trocho Study: http://www.mpwhi.com/formaldehyde_from_aspartame.pdf Another medical text on the subject is "Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills" by neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D. Both my parents died from smoking.

I do have a couple of beefs, the refusal to do anything about the aspartame issue and expose the aspartame and opioid connection. This has absolutely nothing to do with politics but consider President Trump appointed Dr. Gottlieb and they're friends in touch with each other. President Trump is running this country on 12 Diet Cokes a day. Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D. told Newsmax in an interview for an article that "The evidence of the damage they do is profound, and if he doesn't get off this stuff, he's going to end up demented," says Dr. Blaylock."I've seen people who had to be institutionalized with dementia because they drank large amounts of aspartame." In addition to causing neurological problems, aspartame also increases the risk of cancer. "Two big cancers -- lymphoma and leukemia -- are the two most associated with diet drinks, but another big danger is pancreatic cancer," he says. Pancreatic cancer is exploding because people are drinking tons of these drinks.]

I also wrote an article: https://www.opednews.com/articles/Trump-s-Bizarre-Obsession-by-Dr-Betty-Martini-Carcinogenic_Coke_Diet_Diet-Cokes-171218-328.html

At least Dr. Gottlieb could have done is told President Trump about aspartame and gotten him off Diet Coke. Wouldn't you want to save the life of a friend?

Next please read two studies on aspartame and opioid interaction.

This study was designed to investigate the relative role of sweetness and comparative effects of different taste sensation of the non - caloric sweetener , aspartame on pain and its interaction with MK - 80] as a non - selective MMDA antagonist by formalin - test in mice. The formalin - test was chosen because it measures the response to a long - lasting nociceptive stimulus and closely resembles to the clinical pain. Morphine induced a dose dependent antinociception in the early and late phases of formalin test. Twelve days pretreatment of animals by aspartame ( 0.08% , 0.16% , 0.32%) significantly potentiated morphine - induced (1.5-9 mg/kg) analgesia in the early phase but significantly antagonized its analgesic effect in the late phase, dose dependently. Aspartame (0.16%) alone showed a reduction in pain response . Naloxone (0.4 mg/kg) significantly antagonized the antinociceptive effect of morphine in the presence of aspartame (0-0.32%) in the early phase. Increasing the dose of aspartame decreased effects of naloxone. MK-801 (0.1 mg/kg) as an N- Methyl - D - Aspartate (NMDA) antagonist significantly potentiated the effect of aspartame on morphine - induced antinociception in the early phase. In the late phase, naloxone (0.4 mg/kg) increased pain response but MK- 801 (0.1 mg/kg) induced anti-inflammatory effect significantly. Treatment of animals with MK- 801 alone, significantly induced analgesia in both phases of formalin - test. This effect was potentiated with aspartame dose - dependently. Possible interaction of aspartame with NMDA receptors and its role to facilitate endogenous opioid system are proposed mechanisms of aspartame in modulating morphine - induced antinociception. Furthermore, the resulting association between morphine and aspartame chronic consumption may be explained as an interactive action rather than simple dose combination of both drugs.

I did discuss this with Dr. Ralph Walton, psychiatrist and aspartame expert who has done two studies on aspartame. He said: "As the paper which you sent me demonstrates, aspartame initially potentiates morphine induced analgesia, but subsequently antagonizes it." Since aspartame alters the catecholamine/indoleamine balance we can anticipate very significant central nervous system effects, and interactions with other agents, such as morphine, which are also very active in the CNS." We know it interacts and I've taken the cases for 29 years and almost died from it myself but like Dr. Walton told me, "the exact nature of those interactions still eludes us." I hate to think how many have died in more than 30 years of having an addictive, excitoneurotoxic, carcinogenic, genetically engineered drug, adjuvant and teratogen mass poisoning the people of the world, and I've lectured and seen it in other countries.

Dr. H. J. Roberts told me its aspartame damage to the mitochondria that causes the drug interaction. Dr. James Bowen who has Lou Gehrigs from aspartame told the FDA it was mass poisoning and said: " The only responsible action would be to immediately take aspartame off the market, fully disclose its toxicities, offer full compensation to the injured, public and criminally prosecute anyone who participated in the fraudulent placement of aspartame on the marketplace. That includes those who work so diligently to keep in on the market as well." People who are victims of aspartame and know it have carried epi-pens for years in case of accidental getting aspartame and going into anaphylactic shock.

Here is another study.

Possible analgesic and anti-inflammatory interactions of aspartame with opioids and NSAIDs.

Sharma S1, Jain NK, Kulkarni SK.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of the present study was to investigate analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of aspartame, an artificial sweetener and its combination with various opioids and NSAIDs for a possible synergistic response. The oral administration of aspartame (2-16mg/kg, po) significantly increased the pain threshold against acetic acid-induced writhes in mice. Co-administration of aspartame (2mg/kg, po) with nimesulide (2 mg/kg, po) and naproxen (5 mg/kg, po) significantly reduced acetic acid-induced writhes as compared to effects per se of individual drugs. Similarly when morphine (1 mg/kg, po) or pentazocine (1 mg/kg, po) was co-administered with aspartame it reduced the number of writhes as compared to their effects per se. Aspartame (4,8,16 mg/kg, po) significantly decreased carrageenan-induced increase in paw volume and also reversed the hyperalgesic effects in rats in combination with nimesulide (2 mg/kg, po). The study indicated that aspartame exerted analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects on its own and have a synergistic analgesic response with conventional analgesics of opioid and non-opioid type, respectively.PMID:15991573

Stephen Fox, Mission Possible New Mexico said about this today: "One simple and straightforward action you can take is as follows: If ever there were a critical time to write to both of your US Senators, from either party, it is right now. When the next FDA Commissioner is selected, he or she must be confirmed by the United States Senate, whose members will ask them questions like about drug pricing, opioids, problems with big pharma, etc. You the listener can make it clear to both of your Senators in a personal email through their Senate website that you wantthem to demand of the next commissioner that they must agree to rapidly move towards rescinding FDA approval for this carcinogenic neurotoxic poison called aspartame made by Ajinomoto of Japan, as well as Roundup, the proven carcinogenic weedkiller made by Monsanto/merged now with Bayer. Yes, in other words, you are asking the Senators to take a strong unequivocal position which will improve the lives and health of millions of Americans, and not mouse around with yet another generic excuse made up by industry stooges working at the FDA, to answer their concerns and to sweep your concerns yet again under the rug."

Stephen Fox worked very hard to get aspartame banned in New Mexico. Besides being Mission Possible New Mexico for years he is a consumer protection journalist and art gallery owner in Santa Fe.
