This is a good article but in the paragraph that starts out about Monsanto I think the author meant to say, Phenylalanine and Aspartic acid. He has phenylalanine twice. About L-phenylalanine and D-phenylalanine discussed, I have the Bada Studies which bottom line say when the two amino acids are heated , aspartic acid and phenylalanine, they revert to the more dangerous D versions. I spoke to Dr. Bada at the time Neotame was being considered for approval and he said all they did was scramble the formula.
Also, what was first approved was only aspartame products in their dry form like Equal because the FDA admitted it couldn't be heated. Obviously, the FDA employees must have had a problem with learning when they were in school as anyone knows when you add Equal to hot coffee or tea you just heated it. Also Jello was approved and you heat that as well. Further, aspartame breaks down at 86 degrees and your temperature is 98.6. Yet, this agency is suppose to safeguard food and drugs. It was in l983 without notification to anyone that aspartame was approved for carbonated beverages. The National Soft Drink Assn had written a 30 page protest on adding aspartame to carbonated drinks and even mentioned the anti-adulteration law: http://www.mpwhi.com/open_letter_dick_adamson.htm The National Soft Drink (now American Beverage) then turned around and lobbied for NutraSweet. So, they knew the gun was loaded. It was this reason that this protest was added to the congressional record we have on the front page of http://www.mpwhi.com scroll down to banners. We believe the FDA raised the ADI because they know it would be abused with soft drinks. Yet, they knew because aspartame is a poison no ADI could be set, especially since it causes cancer. This was admitted by their own FDA toxicologist who originally asked for Searle to be indicted for fraud. Unfortunately, both US Prosecutors hired on with the defense team and the statute of limitations gave out.
In 1993 the FDA who had full knowledge you could not heat aspartame and that its an adulterated product making it illegally on the market, turned right around and approved it for baked goods. In 1996 they said they would give it blanket approval of the complaints went down. They said they were not going to accept anymore complaints, and that prevented adding to the list, but I couldn't figure out how they could reduce what was already there. Lo and behold when the list came out the FDA said they had to change their bookkeeping system which required them to throw away hundreds of aspartame complaints. Let's give the FDA an A in Deception! So Dr. David Kessler, granted blanket approval for a deadly, deadly, addictive, excitoneurotoxic, genetically engineered, carcinogenic drug and adjuvant that damages the mitochondria and interacts with drugs and vaccines.
There are several reasons why aspartame triggers or precipitates MS and lupus, but one of them is the fact that aspartame is an adjuvant. In an interview with neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D., he discussed adjuvants and made the comment that all adjuvants cause the same things such as MS, lupus, ALS, etc. In the 4th paragraph in this report, Dr. James Bowen explains exactly how aspartame causes lupus: http://www.rense.com/general/asp.htm
FDA toxicologist and scientist Dr. Adrian Gross exposed to Congress the FDA illegally put aspartame on the market:
Dr. Adrian Gross, told Congress August 1,1985, at lease one of Searle's studies "has established beyond ANY REASONABLE DOUBT that aspartame is capable of inducing brain tumors in experimental animals and that this predisposition of it is of extremely high significance. ... In view of these indications that the cancer causing potential of aspartame is a matter that had been established WAY BEYOND ANY REASONABLE DOUBT, one can ask: What is the reason for the apparent refusal by the FDA to invoke for this food additive the so-called Delaney Amendment to the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act?"
The Delaney Amendment made it illegal to allow ANY residue of cancer causing chemicals in foods. Dr Gross concluded his testimony by asking "Given the cancer causing potential of aspartame how would the FDA justify its position that it views a certain amount of aspartame as constituting an allowable daily intake or 'safe' level of it? Is that position in effect not equivalent to setting a 'tolerance' for this food additive and thus a violation of that law? And if the FDA itself elects to violate the law, who is left to protect the health of the public?" Congressional Record SID835:131 (8/1/85)
So here it is admitted to Congress that FDA violated the law!
Today three more studies have been done by the Ramazzini Institute on aspartame and cancer , proving its a multipotential carcinogen. The latest shows aspartame causes lung and liver cancer. I think its interesting while the public is sipping diet soda and aspartame is in over 10,000 products there has been no mention of this latest peer reviewed study in newspapers, TV, magazines, etc. This is world breaking news! http://www.rense.com/general92/lungl.htm According to Prop 65 in California no product can come into California if it has methanol or formaldehyde. Yet, the Trocho Study showed that the formaldehyde converted from the free methyl alcohol embalms living tissue and damages DNA. When you damage DNA you can destroy humanity.
Now Ajinomoto has changed the name of aspartame to AminoSweet to confuse the public further, even though its very deceptive. Its not the excitoneurotoxic amino acids that sweeten aspartame but the free methyl alcohol. Methanol is classified as a narcotic and causes chronic methanol poisoning. This affects the dopamine system of the brain and causes the addiction. Ajinomoto also is asking that Advantame be approved, another scrambled aspartame product. With the loyalty the FDA has to industry, Big Pharma's Washington Branch Office, we need to be concerned. Aspartame causes an irregular heart rhythm, and interacts with cardiac medication. It damages the cardiac conduction system and causes sudden death. This is no doubt the reason so many athletes have dropped dead. FDA toxicologist, Dr. Jacqueline Verrett, told Congress in 1987 aspartame still hadn't been proven safe, and all studies were built on a foundation of sand and should be thrown out. Obviously, aspartame can never be proven safe because is a deadly poison. No matter how many studies were done by Searle originally they couldn't prove aspartame safe which is why they resorted to fraud. They would excise brain tumors from the rats (aspartame breaks down to DKP, a brain tumor agent), put them back in the study, and when they died resurrected them on paper. Two of the teratology studies were so bad they were removed from the famous Bressler Report. It took us 8 years to find them. They had been sealed by FDA so the public couldn't see them and they refused to release them.
