I am a mother of two sons who was advised to get flu shots for the entire family. We were told that our younger son had asthma and we needed to reduce the risk of flu for the family so that we didn't trigger his asthma. We were never told that the flu shot contained thimerosal and aluminum. Since it was the boys first time receiving the shot, they received two shots 30 days apart.
My older son missed school for five days. He felt weak, ran a fever, and wanted to sleep a lot. My younger son did fine after the first shot. Our pediatrician assured us that my older son's reaction had nothing to do with the flu shot, so we proceeded with the second shot. Once again, our older son became ill, this time for two days. Our younger son became very ill for weeks and regressed terribly. They did an EEG, had us meet with a neurologist, and couldn't offer any explanations. To further complicate matters, he developed three ear infections soon after the flu shot and was given antibiotics that contained aspartame. Our little boy was gone.
We have spent years chelating, making dietary changes, going to speech, physical and occupational therapy. It has taken me years to make the associations and realize the affects that thimerosal and aspartame have had on our sons. We have test results from heavy metal challenges showing what is coming out of our son. He is finally recovering and it is my mission to warn other parents against the dangers of these dangerous substances.
Please listen to Dr. Stoller's plea. Please allow parents to make an informed decision. I was told to get a flu shot. I trusted my pediatrician. I was never handed information that explained both sides so that we as a family could make a decision. When my younger son became ill, all the pediatrician whom we had trusted so much did, was shuffle us off to other doctors and didn't want to discuss this with us. I doubt their reactions were every reported to the CDC. All the pediatrician was able to offer us was their pity and signed off on therapies. We, the family, had to find the alternatives and controversial ways to get the metals and viruses out of our bodies. Please inform parents of the true mercury exposure. There is NO safe level outlined by the EPA or FDA - tell parents this. We have a right to know. It's our children.
