Dr. Morando Soffritti who did the Ramazzini studies showing aspartame to be a multipotential carcinogen says this recent publication of Dr. Eva Tibaldi, of the Ramazzini Institute, shows 92% of the diagnosis of lymphomas evaluated by current ematossilin/eosine stain have been confirmed by Immunochemistry technique. The study is attached and of extreme importance.
Renowned Dr. M. Alemany, who did the Trocho Study on aspartame said " The paper "Identification of aspartame-induced haematopoietic and lymphoid tumours in rats after lifetime treatment", by Dr. Eva Tibaldi and collaborators, from the prestigious Ramazzini Institute of Bologna (Italy) [Acta Histochemica, 2020; 122: 141548], is a definitive contribution to highlight the more than two-decade-long known carcinogenic effect of aspartame. This study ends the forced 'controversy' on the painfully acquired data from Dr. Soffritti's studies on aspartame-induced lymphomas, which were 'assumed' (without proof) to be something else. The already clear histology studies have been further backed with immunochemistry techniques. We only can hope that this new re-demonstration of aspartame toxicity will help stop the procrastination and orchestrated bulling against real scientific work, helping to save unaware people of pain, illness and death."
Dr. Alemany's words ring loud and clear. The aspartame industry tried to assassinate Dr. Alemany's character because the findings were so devastating against this addictive, excitoneurotoxic, carcinogenic, genetically engineered drug, adjuvant and teratogen that goes by many names from Equal and E-951 to Spoonful, Benevia and Canderel, etc.
After the first Ramazzini Study by Dr. Soffritti the aspartame industry ran out of excuses and said a federal study on 567,000 Americans by NIH, NCI and AARP proved aspartame didn't cause cancer. In reality there was no aspartame study. What they were presenting was a food form we call The Cornbread Brownie Study. Ten years prior to the first of three Ramazzini studies this 16 page questionnaire was sent out to seniors. It asked if you smoked, do you exercise, eat cookies, crackers, sausage collards, pancakes, what was your highest grade in school, have you had a hysterectomy, did you eat oatmeal or strawberries in the past year, carrots, cheeseburgers, cornbread or brownies. Only in one of the 56 questions did they mention aspartame when asked what kind of sweetener they used in the last 12 months.
Industry continued to coerce the European Food Safety Authority, EFSA, until the head of the committee resigned saying they were pressured by industry to highjack science. Even the chief investigator of aspartame, Dr. Adrian Gross at the FDA confessed to the Senate it was on the market illegally because it caused cancer. As you read the new information remember Dr. John Olney and Attorney James Turner fought to prevent approval. The FDA tried to have G. D. Searle indicted for fraud and revoked the petition for approval. It was only through political chicanery this poison was released to the public. Searle used Don Rumsfeld to get it through. It was admitted in the Senate the FDA was getting so many complaints they were referring them to the AIDS Hotline.
There was a constant battle between Senator Howard Metzenbaum and Senator Orrin Hatch. In a letter dated 2/25/1986 to Hatch Senator Metzenbaum said, " We need to hold hearings on NutraSweet - which is being used by over 100 million Americans. With an issue that is critical to the health of half the American population, how can you in good conscience say "no?" We cannot rely upon the tests sponsored by the manufacturer of NutraSweet, G. D. Searle, and ignore the concerns being raised by independent studies. We don't need the company which is making hundreds of millions of dollars on this product telling us it's "safe," particularly when the credibility of that Company's testing on NutraSweet has been severely undermined. You know the FDA recommended a criminal investigation of possible fraud in NutraSweet tests. The FDA has never before or since made such an investigation."
Over 30 years have passed since Senator Metzenbaum wrote that letter and millions continue to experience the same serious problems. Senator Metzenbaum ended his letter by saying to Hatch: "By ignoring the safety concerns which have been raised, we are potentially jeopardizing the health and safety of over 100 million Americans who are ingesting NutraSweet" .. Imagine the amount of deaths and cancers today the world over.
